J.R. Celski
Young speed skater pursues
high-intensity training.

AIM-sponsored speedskater J.R. Celski, age 17, continues to regain his strength and improve on his technique following some time spent recovering from injuries. His focus now is to continue to increase his speed and prepare for a series of meets leading to the America Cup Finals in the spring of 2008.

There are six big meets on his schedule, and the results of five of them determine attendance at world level competitions. The meets are in Michigan, New York, Utah, and Ohio. J.R.'s goals for this year are to make the Junior World Team (travel to Italy) and to be a member of the World Cup team.

J.R. is training in southern California toward his ultimate goal of representing the United States in future Winter Olympics.
